The Norwegian Hospital and Health Service Association (NSH) is a non-profit membership organisation and an important meeting place for Norway’s health and care sector.

NSH was founded in 1937, and in 2027 we will celebrate 90 years as a meeting place, knowledge-sharing organisation and driving force for the development of health and care services.

Throughout the year, we organise around 10–12 conferences and professional events covering current topics and featuring engaging programmes. Our conferences are interdisciplinary arenas that bring together healthcare professionals and leaders from hospitals, municipalities, politics, voluntary organisations and other stakeholders across the sector. Participants come from all parts of Norway, and our events provide opportunities for knowledge sharing, dialogue and new collaborations across professional fields and levels of the healthcare system.

All hospitals in Norway are members of NSH, and our membership also includes municipalities, organisations, suppliers and individual members.

NSH aims to be a driving force in professional and healthcare policy discussions and to contribute to the development of health and care services. We address the most pressing and relevant topics and invite leading experts and speakers to our events. Our goal is to share knowledge, inspire development and provide healthcare professionals with better tools and insights to deliver high-quality treatment, care and support to patients and service users.

The Healthcare Leadership Award

Since 2007, NSH has presented the Healthcare Leadership Award, recognising outstanding leadership in Norway’s healthcare services. The award may be given to an individual leader, a leadership team or an institution that has distinguished itself through its leadership and its contribution to the development of healthcare services.

The Healthcare Leadership Award recognises leaders and organisations that achieve results, inspire others and contribute to a better healthcare system.
